Avatar New York in the Winners Circle for the 2008 IMA Awards

Interactive Media Awards celebrate 5 forms of excellence.  Websites are evaluated on these criteria: Design, Content, Feature Functionality, Usability and Standards Compliance.  Winners of IMA’s excel beyond their competitors in showcasing their ability to connect with their users and the industry in a cutting-edge way.  For New York web design firm, Avatar New York, winning an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for their own site’s Web Design and Development, another ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for MovieMapping.com, and a ‘Best in Class’ for their creation of Apricot and Ivy's retail site is an inspired achievement.

Avatar New York re-launched their site, which promotes their work on award-winning designs of both small and large companies.  Avatar New York’s site reaches their clientele in a visual and personal way, clearly outlining the process and services that make websites most effective.  Their methodologies are applied even in the information architecture of their own site, a definite “outstanding achievement.”

Another award-winner for “Outstanding Achievement” is MovieMapping.com.  In this site, Avatar New York appeals to movie-lovers and tourists alike, interactively highlighting the locations of famous places in film using flash pop-ups that give a brief history of the locale.

These two ‘Outstanding Achievement’ Awards, coupled with a ‘Best in Class’ for Apricot and Ivy, is a great achievement for the Avatar New York team.  Having recently received accreditation by the Green-e Marketplace for their environmental commitment, Avatar New York is proud to be awarded ‘Best in Class’ for their design for an online toy company that set out to provide safe, educational, ecologically-friendly, and chemical-free toys for young children.
